Who is responsible for classroom management?

Classroom management is primarily the responsibility of the instructor. An instructor is specifically trained and designated to facilitate learning, maintain order, and create a productive environment in the classroom. The instructor sets the tone for the learning experience, employing strategies to engage students, address behavioral issues, and ensure that the curriculum is delivered effectively.

While the Charge of Quarters (C.Q.) may have certain obligations related to discipline and oversight in specific contexts, their role does not encompass the comprehensive management of classroom dynamics or learner engagement. Similarly, the Class President’s role is generally focused on representational duties and fostering a positive community among peers, rather than directly managing classroom activities. Although recruits play a vital part in contributing to a collaborative and respectful atmosphere, the primary responsibility for classroom management rests with the instructor, who has the authority and training to implement effective teaching practices and address any issues that arise.
